A Rare And Large Indian Steel Barrel Flintlock Military Blunderbuss Circa 1812. 22 and 1/4 inch octagonal to round barrel with relief chiseled panels of Islamic designs. 2 and 1/4 inch belled muzzle.
Barrel of very fine quality possibly Damascus. Large plain bolted flintlock lock of English India pattern. Steel mounts of military pattern. Large steel sling swivels. Steel buttplate. Steel ramrod possibly the original. Exotic rosewood full-stock. Action is good on both full and half stock. Bore is good. Steel is cleaned with light wear. In impressive 38 and 1/2 inches overall. Rosewood stock has been cleaned but in good overall condition.
Indian guns of this period are scarce and the high quality of this blunderbuss makes it highly desirable to both the collector of blunderbusses and military arms of the British raj.
