A Good Early Winchester Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine “Yellow Boy” Serial Number 76751 For 1871. .44 centerfire.
A better than average example of these popular and generally well used Winchester saddle ring carbines. The barrel with strong Winchester address. Rear sight replaced with a thin blade. Barrel band notched for sighting. Band screw missing. Brass frame with expected wear from use and a small hole drilled through. Left brass panel period stamped with owners name in block capitals “NEW YORK HENRY BRAND”.
Walnut stocks in good sound condition with most attractive grain. Brass frame and buttplate with unpolished “golden” patina. Bore is surprisingly good with sharp lands and grooves. Action is good and works as it should.
