A Good And Rare Italian Wheel-lock Belt Pistol Circa 1620 Possibly Brescian.
The 8 and 5/8th inch octagonal to round barrel with decorative turned muzzle. 42 caliber smoothbore. The flat lock plate with engraved external wheel. The lock retains all internal parts and is struck with a maker’s mark. Plain well shaped steel triggerguard and decorative steel fore-end mounts. Nicely turned steel tipped ramrod. Flattened ovoid butt is finely inlaid with steel wire.
Dark walnut fullstock in fine condition throughout. Barrel with mostly smooth metal, good edges, and some staining throughout.
A most attractive and classic early 17th century Italian wheel-lock belt pistol. For the connoisseur of wheel-lock pistols.
