A Fine Late 18th Century Italian “Vendetta” Dagger With Finely Reeded And Inlaid Bulbous Grip.
Stout 7 and 3/4 inch double edged stabbing blade with floral engraving on a pounced ground. Integral engraved brass ricasso. Recurved steel guard with dragon head and tail. Beautifully patinated pommel with old museum inventory number. The blade tang protrudes through the pommel as with all genuine daggers adding rigidity.
The bulbous grip finely reeded and inlaid with twisted brass wire and dark horn circles. 12 inches overall. No scabbard, This is a lovely early dagger.
