A Very Fine Japanese Imperial Army (Handmade) Gendaito Tachi Samurai Sword Katana Signed And Dated 1938 By Kaneteru.
24 and 3/8th inch cutting edge. Exuberant ko-choji temper with pronounced ashi. Itame hada. Finely formed ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana and well executed “hawk feather” yasuri-mei. Original brass habaki.
This lovely genuine samurai sword was made by a master of the craft. Blade is in almost full bright sashikomi polish and is accompanied by a fine honoki wood shirasaya. A very fine samurai blade that will give the purchaser real pride of ownership.
