An Exceptionally Rare And Entirely Authentic Italian “Ear Dagger” (Italian: Alla Levantina) Circa 1500 The Rarest And Most Sought After Medieval Dagger.
8 inch heavily reinforced double edged blade with characteristic offset ricasso extending the entire length of the 13 inch dagger. Dark horn grip scales with steel plates backing the “ears”.
Bronze age swords from Luristan influenced Moors who influenced the classic early Medieval European form in the 14th century. Condition of the blade is cleaned over ancient corrosion. Horn scales with minor damage but are complete.
To quote one of the most respected authorities on Medieval arms and armour writes in his encyclopedic book The Collectors Course on Medieval Arms and Armor: “Sadly, you will probably never be able to acquire a period ear dagger”.
This dagger has been examined and authenticated by the renowned Italian authority and consultant to several important Italian museums, Guido Montel. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the most advanced collector to acquire a genuine “ear dagger”.
A true museum piece.
