This is a Japanese Imperial Navy Officer's Model 1883 sword.
The original blade is in generally a good condition with some minor edge knicks.
The scabbard has a central repair to the leather but is otherwise in very good condition.
All the mountings are in good condition, with gilding remaining only in protected areas.
