A Very Good French Model 1859 Perrin Double Action 12mm Civil War Revolver.
5 and 1/2 inch round barrel. Special 12 millimeter cartridge.
550 Model 1859 Perrin revolvers were sold to the United States government by Alexis Godillet a number of which were in storage following the ending of the conflict in April of 1865. Condition is fine with excellent markings, mechanics and grip with 90% original varnish. The bore is excellent as well.
A superior example of one of the Civil War’s most interesting metallic cartridge revolvers which was far advanced for its time.
