Very Scarce Engraved Sharps “Bulldog” Model 4B Serial Number 1029

2 and 1/2 inch barrel. .32 short rimfire. Barrels retain 40% thinning original bluing. Frame is extremely crisp with strong traces of original finish showing little wear. The frame is tastefully engraved with sprays of foliage within a line border. The backstrap is engraved ensuite.

Fine original rosewood grips. Action is good and firing pin revolves each time pistol is cocked. Bores are good for this model.

This is a most intriguing period possibly Sharps Factory engraved “Bulldog”. The “Bulldog” is certainly the most interesting variation of the entire Sharps and Sharps & Hankins 4 shot pepperbox line and rarely if ever encountered with period engraving.
