A Fine And Rare Pair Of Late 17th Century Long French Flintlock Holster Pistols By Millet Of Lyon Circa 1675 Stockel #Q59. 

12 inch plain half round half octagonal barrels. .52 caliber. The early bolted locks with beautiful maker’s signature “Millet Lyon”. Unbridled frizzens. Plain 17th century steel mounts. Finely molded plain steel side plates. Plain but elegant spurred steel buttcaps. Early style turned steel ramrod pipes.

Beautifully figured Grenoble walnut full stocks. Steel tipped ramrods. Steel parts are patinated. Both fore-ends with a crack due to the effect of 3 and 1/2 centuries of age on highly figured Grenoble walnut.

Locks are in fine condition.The actions are crisp on both half and full cock. The bores are good for 17th century pistols. 18 and 1/4 inches overall.

Pairs of 17th century French holster pistols by a listed and known maker are exceptionally rare and usually shortened with serious defects. These Millet’s are original and remarkably elegant.
