A Really Good Full Dimension Civil War Military Colt Model 1860 Army Serial Number 51924 All Matching For 1862.
7 and 1/2 inch barrel. 44 Caliber. 1860 Army’s like this one are becoming very difficult to find. All the screws are original. Markings mechanically perfect. Wedge marches and has 45% bright bluing. Naval engagement scene is all there though lightly worn. Nipples are good. Three safety pins are intact and the other three worn but visible. Bore is good. Action is crisp.
Grips are full dimension with two military inspector’s cartouches one is worn the other is visible. The finish has faded to a smooth even age brown. Colt 1860’s like this are really hard to find.
Either one finds a gun with considerable finish in the high five figures or a $2000 used bar of soap with replaced screws, pitting, and ill fitting grips. This is a Civil War Colt with real pride of ownership at a fair price.
