Splendid Matched Pair Of Silver Mounted, Gold Inlaid Damascus Barrel Ottoman Flintlock Holster Pistols Circa 1810

13 and 7/8th inch chiseled round Damascus gold Damascened barrels. 60 caliber. Sunken Ottoman barrel makers mark on gold ground. 9.5 inch central rib entirely Damascened with gold Islamic calligraphy just begging for translation.

Barrels display magnificent complex Damascus pattern. Gold Damascened barrel tangs. Convex finely engraved locks spuriously signed in the Ottoman fashion “WILSON”. Locks have rainproof pans. Hammers are chiseled with foliage and frizzens are molded. Full ensuite finely cast and chased silver mounts feature blossoms and leaves.

Triggerguards stamped with the reigning Ottoman Sultan’s tughra. Spurred buttcaps with Ottoman silver marks and well stamped tughra. Walnut fullstocks finely relief carved behind breech tang, forward of trigger guards, and faux ramrods. Excellent original condition throughout.

This is an exquisite pair of Ottoman flintlock pistols worthy of the finest collection of Mid-Eastern weapons. Lock mechanisms are perfect. Bores are fine. A wonderful pair 20 and 3/4 inches overall.
